Business Development Representative

A future in a quota-carrying role as a sales representative is attractive to you, but you understand you’ll need to prove your worth in this role first. You don’t need a manager to motivate you because you’re intrinsically motivated to succeed, and you enjoy working towards challenges and targets.

What you will do:

In this role, you will be a salesperson in training. As a key extension of the marketing team, we are looking for someone who wants to sell an incredible product that makes healthcare better. During this time, you’ll be responsible for generating top-of-funnel pipeline for our Sales team, through sourcing, building relationships with, and nurturing leads that become opportunities.

Compensation:

$45,000 - $52,000 DOE, OTE = $70,000

Hours:

Full-time (Exempt)

Responsibilities:
    In your first 3-6 months, you will:
    • Learn Cortex products, services, target markets, and messaging
    • Learn our marketing and BDR tech stack (BDR Software, Hubspot, internal systems, etc.)
    • Build strong relationships with your Sales Vice Presidents, marketing, operations, and the Cortex Executive Team
    • Consistently meet goals for lead generation, meetings booking, and prospecting activities
    Over 12-24 months, you will:
    • Continue to build on core skills and product/ industry knowledge
    • Mentor new team members
    • Expand knowledge of mid-to-bottom of the funnel sales cycle activities, and begin to understand the ins and outs of more complex sales cycles
    • Work with mentors to set goals for yourself and gain consideration for a promotion to a quota-carrying role
Qualifications:
  • 1-3 years of experience in a business-to-business environment (preferably health or tech)
  • Prior experience in a leadership role, whether in an extracurricular activity or sport
  • Superior communication and collaboration skills
  • Excellent business writing skills
  • Proficient in presentations, Hubspot, and marketing automation software a plus
  • Insatiable curiosity and a willingness to show up and do work, not coast
  • Analytical and fast learner
