UX Designer Internship

Job Title: User Experience Design Intern
Location: Draper, UT (options to work remotely occasionally)

Cortex is looking for two UX design interns for Fall 2018. (Sept - Mid Dec 2018)

Is this internship paid?

$10/hr. Up to 20hrs a week.

What is Cortex? 

Cortex saves lives of patients who are failing to recover at home by telling their healthcare providers to take action. We've saved dozens of patient lives and prevented hundreds of readmissions. We impact thousands of patient lives every day.

What would I do?

Work with our UX team, nursing team, development team and customers to design, prototype and evaluate new tools for our users. We are a fast pace company and your work will likely go into production within weeks to months.

What kind of problems would I be solving?

We have many exciting problems to solve and they change regularly. Here are some we're working on right now:

  • When we discover a concern or opportunity, how do we make sure the right person sees it quickly?
  • How can we change our system so our Registered Nurse telephone callers record structured data from a call to a patient? 
  • How do we motivate our Registered Nurse telephone callers to make more calls? (weekly raffles? bonus structure?)
  • How would we utilize a deep neural network to assess these calls?
  • How can our analytics pages deliver immediate insights? 
  • How do we A/B test with our customers?
  • What does healthcare look like in 2030?

What skills do I need?

  • Are you punctual? detailed? creative? diligent?
  • Can you sketch ideas? prototype ideas? Explain ideas clearly?
  • Do you go above and beyond?
  • Any previous UX design experience is appreciated but not required.

Will I be treated like an intern?

Only if you act like one.

Account Executive

Job Title: Account Executive
Target Market: Post-acute Providers, Hospitals, Healthcare Networks
Locations: Salt Lake City, Utah (Draper)

Cortex is looking for a highly-motivated and energetic inside sales executive with excellent written and verbal communication skills, ideally with experience marketing and selling to and/or working within the healthcare industry.

Cortex is a health IT startup based in Salt Lake City and focused on following up with patients, predicting/preventing hospital readmissions, and managing/monitoring healthcare networks. Our customers are post-acute providers, hospitals and healthcare networks such as IDNs and ACOs. We’re growing very fast, and we have an immediate hiring need in this key role of Account Executive to help our sales team develop new opportunities and set up appointments.

The Account Executive will be responsible for establishing and maintaining relationships with potential customers, relying heavily on email and phone, and ultimately for cultivating qualified opportunities for the outside sales team to pursue. The Account Executive will work closely with both marketing and sales resources to ensure that, respectively, Cortex is being presented in the best possible light and opportunities are transitioned and closed in a timely and successful manner. This is a full-time role based out of our headquarters in Draper, UT, and reporting directly to the Chief Revenue Officer.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Inside sales. Call on leads with the objectives of introducing Cortex, establishing relationships with potential customers, as well as qualifying and transitioning opportunities through the sales pipeline.

  1. Meet ANY ONE or more of the following experience criteria:

    1. At least 1 year experience in healthcare administration

    2. At least 2 years experience in healthcare marketing or sales

    3. At least 3 years experience in software sales

    4. Completed college or strong equivalent experience

    At Home Agent: Registered Nurse


    Join our team of stay-at-home registered nurses!

    As a Cortex Agent, you make follow-up calls to recently discharged patients. This is all done in our super easy-to-use platform. The results of the calls you make are immediately sent to the patients healthcare provider.

    Our nurses work from home and work whatever hours suit them.

    As an independent contractor, you earn $2.50 per successful call (occasionally we offer bonuses and extra rewards.) Most calls are just a few minutes long. Our nurses typically earn around $25-37.50/hr.

    We are looking for registered nurses who are accountable, diligent, and professional when talking to patients over the phone. Our goal is to help improve patient recovery and prevent readmissions by making the invisible patients visible.
